Gun laws in the United States and the connection with human rights.

Preface:
Hello everybody, it’s time for a new educational project. This time we got the assignment to make an article or editorial about something that’s on the news. But the prerequisite is that is must be something with human rights.
When I searched on the internet for a few topics with those rights I thought it was a good idea to do something different. Mostly human rights are with discrimination or with mental health problems.
But something that recently happened in the United States is the attempt on a school in Texas named the Robb elementary school.
In America is it normal to have a gun or something you can protect yourself with. But is it justly that children can be killed when they are in school? From the thought that this can happened I get very scared, but realize that it is normal to have a gun at home in the U.S.A.
Just as I hoped for, are there laws for the possession of having weapons. But what are these rules? And how do they maintain them?
During the article I hope to give you some clearness about what those gun laws contains.

Research:
So when I was searching for information about the gun laws in America I saw that attempts in schools happened more often. If there are laws in order to prevent why does this situations still happens?
The gun laws says that if you’re above the eigteen years and have a license for having a weapon that you have the rights to have a shotgun in your possess. At the age of twenty one you can have a pistol in your possess, but only if you have a license.
Personally I think that these rules are not very strict and so think 53% of the American people. The other people thinks that it is good to have something at home to protect yourself with.
Much to my surprise I saw that since the first of September 2021 that there is no licence needed in most of the villages in Texas. This is were the accident happened.
If you satisfies the laws you may have a gun in your possession but if you make a time line with all accidents (in schools and universities) are there a lot attempt with an involved gun.
The attempt on Robb elementary school is not the only school that lost children because someone with a gun came into a school / university. There have been more attacks all over America.

Human rights:
After an accident like this are people going to talk about everything around the accident. Because children were killed and the umpteenth attack had been committed.
The connection between human rights and the attack at the elementary school is a bit complicated. The children had rights to live and to be at school, but the shooter wasn’t illegal because he complied to the gun laws. And the gun laws are also a kind of right were the shooter has a right to.
Yes, the shooter did something wrong and he committed an attack. But the gun he shooted with is ‘innocent’ because he has that law. I found that the children had more right to live then the shooter the right of having a gun. But it is up to the people you ask the question: who has the most in this case? As I said before is the answer various, because of the division in America.
The one says that the laws must be eased so that the children can protect themselves. And his neighbour says the laws must become stricter to protect attacks like these.
Both sides of this story have rights, but one side did something punishable (shooter) and the other side (children) was innocent.

Conclusion:
So the whole discussion in this situation is still in progress but those who are for the weapon possession are under pressure. After all those attempts with guns is it a must to make the laws stricter. It will not stop all of the violence with weapons but a new law must take care of that the accidents decrease. Everyone must be the one that he/she wants to be and that’s also a human right. It is okay if you want to have a weapon for own safety, but make sure you have a license. Cause if there was peace in America there were no weapons needed. Not all Americans are having the same thoughts about weapon possession so that’s the reason why there is no resolution for the new laws. But now is the time to talk about it and to do something against those violence (with guns).
